A few weeks ago, Jason and I, along with a few other wedding bloggers and their husbands/boyfriends, were invited to check out two amazing resorts in the Caribbean as possible honeymoon spots – I know, rough job! 🙂 Big thanks to Katie from Ever After Honeymoons for setting up this amazing trip up!
Today I’m going to share the first stop of our trip – the beautiful Viceroy Anguilla. Anguilla is a small island located in the Caribbean. Getting to Anguilla is a bit tricky from LA, but it’s totally worth it once you get there (if you happen to be on the East Coast, the trip is relatively easy!) After 2 plane changes, a boat ride and a cab ride we arrived at the Viceroy Anguilla. And wow, what a beautiful resort! I loved the architecture and the design/layout of the pools and outdoors spaces…..beautiful views everywhere you look!
There were six couples in our group, we shared 2 large villas. Each villa offers a plunge pool to share that overlooks the ocean and a private suite for each couple – pretty amazing! From the patio of the villa, you can hear the ocean waves wash against the rocks below…so peaceful.
One of the first things Jason and I did once we got there was find the beach. Luckily there’s a gorgeous beach on the property with plenty of chairs and umbrellas. The beach offers a bunch of water of activities like kayaking, boating, snorkeling and paddle boarding. Jason and I tried paddle boarding the second day, but the current was pretty strong that day, so it didn’t go exactly as I hoped! 🙁 Still had a blast after I decided that just swimming was probably better for me.
We also made sure to visit the spa – as we expected after seeing the architecture of the resort, the spa design was super rad! I mean look at that table above from the waiting room! Need that. 🙂 Jason + I enjoyed a relaxing couple’s massage (our first couple’s massage!) and it really was one of the best massages I’ve had.
Loved breakfasts there. Muesli with fresh fruits and a great omelet bar was a perfect start to the day – and that’s the lovely Summer from Grey Likes Weddings with her boyfriend above joining Jason and I for breakfast. 🙂
The Viceroy has three pools which are all pretty amazing, each with a unique vibe. Our favorite by far was the infinity pool above. It had stunning views and the poolside lunch of sushi + sliders can’t be beat – yum!
We had such a wonderful + relaxing few days at the Viceroy Anguilla! Thanks so much to the resort for hosting us and letting us experience the wonderful property.
If you’re planning a relaxing and very laid back honeymoon with lots of privacy and quiet, the Viceroy Anguilla is the place for you. They offer a gorgeous resort, infinity pools, beach and spa….you never even need to leave their property. What more do you need to have a restful honeymoon 🙂
Since Jason and I like our trips to include both time to relax and time for activities, I think it would be great to pair a stop at the Viceroy Anguilla with a trip to the second hotel we stayed at on the island of St. Barts, which I’ll be sharing next week. The islands are so close, but so very different in almost every way.
